EXTENDED RANGE COURSE

Extended range is the pinnacle of Air/Nitrox diving.

Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 40 m but you will not have access (or very limited access) to helium. This challenging course teaches you the proper techniques, procedures, risks and hazards, to plan and perform accelerated staged decompression dives to a maximum depth of 55m. The course also covers advanced diving physics, physiology and decompression theory to give the student a full understanding of all aspects of diving utilising air and Nitrox mixtures. The Extended Range course will cover topics and skills such as

  • Equipment requirements and configuration
  • Decompression options
  • Use of surface marker buoys
  • Buddy rescue
  • Narcosis checks and management

PREREQUISITES

You must be 18 years of age, be certified as a decompression procedures diver or equivalent and have 100 logged dives minimum.

COURSE DURATION

6 days, 6 dives.
